Hello there,

Its been a while and its getting late, but I want to let you know about the new things that will be happening with the site.

We are going to be adding reusable mylar stencils to the sites shop pages and these will initially come under the categories of Banksy replica and iconic faces. These are going to be offered in various stencil plate sizes from A4 up to A0 and then even larger to mural sizes if you request it. They are going to be very competitive in prices that we are sure cant be beaten. They are going to enable out customers to create their own art at home to personalise their living spaces.

I may enhance the range even further to some floral designs, but I don't want to go down that kind of soft over 50's kind of mottling stencil look which looks rubbish like slippers and newspaper has come to town. So All of what I do will be bold and funky and stylish. I will always favor the use of spray paints to create the images as the colours are stark and bold, flat and contemporary. Plus it is quick to create the image on the wall or canvas.

I will also be selling plain stencil sheets for people wanting to cut some of their own stencils. This should work well with something else that I have planned and that's some kind of section that has some free stencil templates that can be downloaded and used.

Also there will be some HOW TO STENCIL pages made showing different techniques and ways to paint your stencils. Whether it be on a wall, on a t-shirt or stenciling on canvas.

My current retro, cult and graffiti categories in terms of my stencil art canvasses will be sorted through and improved.

I am hoping that the site will generally be growing and incorporating all aspects of stenciling. For it is stencilling that makes the world go round.

MOTHER TERESA RUBIKS CUBE GRAFFITI STENCIL ART

This new stencil based artwork started from an image found on the net of Mother Teresa. I adapted / subverted it to create this original image which shows her trying to solve the iconic puzzle...life is a puzzle and im sure she saw a lot of suffering and wondered what is the answer... I added in the hands and Rubiks Cube using photoshop.

The black and white image itself consists of 2 stencil plates, which was easy but on top of that I then had to add the Cube which was the difficult part - having to cut different stencil plates for each colour on the cube. I then sprayed the hands on top, so that she is holding the cube, I then used a mask to add in the background last of all, using a straight edge which I sprayed against to create the saintly rays.


Using images and then subverting them, making them unique and new, is something graffiti artists a lot do e.g Banksys Che, Mona Lisa, and Churchill pieces.. also Dolks Burger King Prince Charles and most famously Shepard Fairys OBAY based on an old Andre the Giant photo.
